Lake in the North Cascades

The story

This is from a photo Lisa took hiking in the North Cascades. I'm not sure which lake it is, so I just call it a lake in the North Cascades. She had taken some nice hiking photos and I wanted to paint something from them. I also wanted to try something more monochrome. I usually go for bright primary color contrasts, but these felt expressive in one color. They're different from a lot of my other work, a lot of people comment on them, and I should probably do more like it.
