Just before this sunset, a friend and I were sitting in a quiet cove along the beach at Kihei when a couple and a minister walked out and began a wedding ceremony, and we watched quietly from where we sat. Partway through, a kid climbed onto the rocks above them and started an airplane dogfight with a couple of toys, oblivious to the wedding. As they were wrapping up, a guy emerged from the bushes where he'd been sleeping: “Oh, hey, how's it going?” Then the sky went orange, pink and gray over the water.
