Gavin Robertson Collab

From the Nantucket to Cape Town
Gavin and I were neighbors at the Nantucket for a number of years. We spent a lot of time talking about Bitcoin, my art projects—including the rock opera I was working on—and my journey toward becoming an artist.
Gavin thought I had an interesting story, one worth making a film about, and told me he wanted to make a documentary about that journey. Documentary filmmaking is his passion. He’s been studying it through courses, and this project became a way to develop his craft while telling my story.
We began shooting in Seattle. After those shoots, Gavin asked whether there was a Bitcoin conference we could travel to together, where I could bring my paintings—something I’d already been doing. I suggested the one in his hometown of Cape Town the following month. We made it happen, and continued filming there.

Coined in Watercolor: The Art of Going All In
Gavin Robertson follows my journey of becoming an artist, from Seattle to Cape Town. The documentary premiered at the Bitcoin Film Festival in Warsaw, Poland, in 2026.
I painted the poster for the premiere, using a frame from the documentary where I am meditating on top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. I gave the painting as a gift to the organizer of the Bitcoin Film Festival.
